The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Urology, is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities focused on developing a practice to support and complement the current faculty in Urology. The candidate will support and build our general Urology program in Hyde Park as well as our offsite locations, which entails treating, evaluating, and providing patient care directly.
The appointee will maintain a productive clinical portfolio and develop a clinical practice complemented by patient-oriented research. Other duties include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants who are interested in building a general Urology program with strategic expansion at the University of Chicago. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
The University of Chicago Medicine has been at the forefront of medical care since 1927. Located in historic Hyde Park, the primary medical campus includes the Center for Care and Discovery, Comer Children's Hospital, Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital for adult inpatient care, and the Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (DCAM) totaling more than 550 beds in service. New ambulatory facilities are located in Orland Park, River East, South Loop, and the Ingalls Health System has recently integrated into the network.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible with the American Board of Urology.
